Here are some of the wallpaper patterns I’ve created since working at Astek Inc.
This was one of the pieces in my last post. But, I cut it in half and changed it all up. Please enjoy.
This was a collaboration with designers Gabe Gonzales, Craig Ruda, and myself to design a new mural for the Astek Wallcovering showroom.
Hello again. Electronic sound waves can come in four basic forms: sine, square, triangle, and sawtooth. Also, any sound programmed into a synthesizer follows a basic path: attack, decay, sustain, and release. These clusters of four found within the creation of electronic sound were the inspiration for this piece.
Hi there. I finally have some new work to post. Enjoy : )
Between 1919 and 1933 in Berlin, prostitutes advertised their particular specialities by wearing different colored boots. For example, scarlet boots meant transvestite humiliation. White boot laces meant the prostitute preferred to be collared like a dog whereas black boot laces connote punishment with a short whip. Brown boots signify asphyxiation by boot laces or a stockinged foot. The list goes on and on. This is not only a collection of perverse women’s footwear, it is an opportunity to allow the viewer to guess what other deviant meanings lie behind the many pairs.
Every coffee bean is different from another; some so valuable that they are exchanged as currency, some so rare only a handful of humans have tasted their aroma, and some so abundantly available they’ve made their way into billions of daily rituals. The point is, they’re all only beans, prepared the same way, using the same methods, delivering the same product. A simple drink. In this piece I try to equalize all coffee beans and show their familiarity with each other and their unanimous destination.
This is a simple piece revolving around the wonder and mass hysteria that resulted from the launch of Russia’s Sputnik satellite into Earth’s orbit. My purpose was to show that even though Sputnik was a mere metal ball soaring through space, it’s technological masterpiece was pristine, revered, renowned and feared.
Actually, it’s not new. I’ve had it for a few months now, but finally made it in there this weekend to organize and install a working space. I’m super excited. I’ve got a lot of room and daylight and a good set of speakers so I can blast Blonde Redhead : )
So, expect some big work soon. And I mean big!
